Overview

Once you have signed up, follow five simple steps to receive your voucher!

After completing these five steps, you will receive a voucher towards new electric-powered lawn equipment (based on your voucher choice), redeemable in-person, at participating Ace Hardware, and Home Depot stores. Please note, NOT ALL STORES participate in this program. Click here to view a map of participating stores.

Please note:

• The first email you receive is NOT  your  voucher.  Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, as long as funding is available.
• To receive your voucher, you must the complete the steps below.
• Your voucher is reserved for you for 21 days.
• You will be responsible for any costs of your new electric lawn equipment if it exceeds your voucher amount.
• You have 21 days from receipt of your confirmation email to recycle your gasoline-powered lawn equipment and claim your voucher.

This year, we will offer several voucher types through Ace Hardware and Home Depot, but note that only one voucher per household is allowed per year. You need to select the type of voucher you want at the time of application.

The voucher options are as follows:

• $75 voucher for handheld electric equipment: Recycling of a gas item is mandatory.
• $75 voucher for electric lawn mower: No recycling is necessary, as we want to encourage eco-friendliness.
• $150 voucher for electric lawn mower: Recycling of a gas mower is required.

Voucher amount and preferred retailer are chosen at the time of sign up. This cannot be changed, and your voucher can only be redeemed once at the retailer you selected.

Step Two: Prepare Your Lawn Equipment for Recycling

To receive your voucher, you must recycle your gasoline-powered lawn equipment. ($75 mower voucher is exempt, follow the instructions in your email)

You must drain all oil and gas from your old equipment.

Please note:

• Metal recycling facilities cannot accept equipment that contain gas and oil.
• You may dispose of waste gas and oil properly at a local Household Hazardous Waste facility. You can also contact your auto mechanic, auto repair, or oil change business to see if they are able to accept your waste oil and gasoline.
• Please remove your lawn mower’s gas cap. Metal gas caps can be brought to the metal recycling facility.

Step Four: Recycle Your Gas-Powered Equipment

Ask the recycler for a receipt.

• If the recycler does not provide you with a receipt, please ask them to sign and date the drop-off verification form. They can sign anywhere on the form.
• You need either the receipt or the signed form to verify that you recycled your mower, and to qualify for your voucher.
• Please note, the recycler does not give you the voucher. We will provide your voucher once you recycle your old gas-powered equipment and provide us with the required documentation.
